Grand Penemas Hotel cukup strategis, tidak jauh dari terminal Takengon, 50m ke arah utara. Untuk sekelas ibukota kabupaten, hotel ini cukup besar. Hanya saja ruangan kamar tamu agak sempit, minimalis. Fasilitas yang disediakan hanya perlengkapan mandi dan air minum. Tidak ada AC, secara Takengon berada diketinggian 1000an meter. Fasilitas lainnya air panas untuk mandi, tersedia pagi dan malam hari. Tv dengan siaran nasional juga available di kamar.
